Praia Bingo | Seasons feature

Release date:

Tools:

Seasons is a recurring progression feature in Praia Bingo: players complete challenges over a set period and earn prizes based on their progress. The original version was minimal: a simple banner inside the game’s inbox with a retroactive text message informing players of the dynamic and their reward.

The redesign gave Seasons a dedicated screen for the first time. Now it has a fully designed, personalizable interface where players can track their progress, preview upcoming prizes, and understand how the mechanic works at a glance.

It also opened a new opportunity for our content team to expand on the game’s storytelling every 2 weeks.

What I did

I handled the majority of the UI design, wireframing, and component architecture in Figma. Starting from low-fidelity wireframes, I mapped the information hierarchy and made the setting of what players need to see first, what can be secondary, how the progression states should communicate visually. The final component system was built to be skinnable, so each season can have its own visual theme without requiring a full redesign and also dynamic, permitting our Game Designers to explore different mechanics whenever they want.

Design Decisions

The core tension in this project was making a progression system feel motivating rather than overwhelming. Players needed to see both where they are and what they’re working toward, so the layout prioritizes current progress with prize previews always visible, never buried behind a tap.
